About Fash P
Benjamin Thoya Baya, widely known by his stage name Fash P, is a Kenyan rapper and recording artist who has steadily built his reputation through consistency and passion. His artistic journey began in 2005, while he was still a student at Chumani High School. What started as a youthful interest quickly evolved into a lifelong commitment to music, allowing him to shape a unique identity in the coastal rap landscape.
Although he has not participated in major award shows, Fash P has made significant strides in securing meaningful partnerships within the Kenyan music industry. He is signed to platforms such as Viusasa, PRISK, and SKIZA tune distributors—organizations that help artists monetize their work. His recent music video Gonga Pia gained wide visibility on national television, with airplay on Citizen TV, Triple P TV, Focus TV, and several other stations, marking one of his most notable achievements to date.
Balancing music with a formal office job remains one of his biggest challenges, as dividing time between professional responsibilities and studio sessions can be demanding. Despite this, Fash P continues to push forward and encourages fellow artists to register with bodies like MCSK, PRISK, and KAMP. He emphasizes that these rights organizations play a crucial role in ensuring artists earn from their radio and TV airplay, helping them benefit from their creative efforts. Through his discipline and dedication, Fash P represents the resilience required to thrive in Kenya’s evolving music industry.
