About Angiey Fresh
Lydia Angela Adhiambo, better known by her stage name Angiey Fresh, is an Afro-fusion artist whose musical journey began long before she entered the studio. Raised in a Christian family, she first discovered her voice in church as a young girl. These early experiences shaped her vocal foundation and built the confidence that would later propel her into Kenya’s music scene. With a sound rooted in both melody and rap, Angiey Fresh blends African rhythms with expressive storytelling, creating a unique identity within the coastal music landscape.
Her professional breakthrough came in 2015 when she recorded her first full track, Umbea, at Terrabyte Studio in Malindi. A year later, her talent gained wider recognition when she competed in the 2016 Kilifi Vocal Search, where she ranked among the Top Six and earned a certificate. Over the years, she has released several tracks including Tulia, Nasonga (harmonized by Nyota Ndogo), Nipe featuring Dogo Richy, and Vuruga. Each release reflects her growth, versatility, and determination to refine her craft.
Like many emerging artists, Angiey Fresh acknowledges the challenges of building a music career—particularly the financial demands and the additional pressures faced by women in the industry. She emphasizes the importance of discipline and resilience, encouraging upcoming musicians not to give up. Her message is simple but powerful: keep pushing, because one day the art will reward your persistence. Through her music and her story, Angiey Fresh continues to inspire aspiring artists across the Coast and beyond.
