I stand to be corrected but I can say I have seen the metamorphosis of Kiwanja with the release of his latest music video – Taabu. Kiwanja has grown from Hardcore hip-hop music, which was seen to appeal to a few in the Coastal Town of Malindi, to a rather musical and melodic tune that is going to capture the attention of many in the coastal region.
“ARTS AND CULTURE DEFINE A COMMUNITY. Swahili, A tribe from the coast region that is believed to h... CULTURE HAS ARTIST DEPICTING WHAT THE COMMUNITY IS AND WHAT IT NEEDS TO BE – KIOO CHA JAMII (MIRROR OF THE COMMUNITY)”.
The location of the video is impressive to me. It depicts the coastal region with shots showing the oceans and the narrow streets and old buildings all a heritage of the coast.
Done at Malindi Records, I expected my mind to be blown away. I have great respect for Marvin Y. Bruda, which is why I won’t stop picking his mind until I see his videos at MTV Video Awards.
Sangooo, starting with the signature line of Producer Sango, the genre is a comfortable one for the producer so he Nailed It!!
