Watamu is located on a short promontory between the blue lagoon and Watamu Bay, 105 kilometers north of Mombasa and 15 kilometers south of Malindi on Kenya’s Indian Ocean Coast. Watamu is a popular tourist destination because of its beautiful white-sand beaches. Water sports and diving expeditions are available in the marine park, and visitors can marvel at the immense mangrove forest on Mida Creek, which is home to numerous marine life and rare sea turtles.
